Because of poverty, HIV/AIDS, war, and other circumstances beyond their control, thousands of youth are forced to deal with hardships from an early age.
Due to civil war in Sudan, an entire generation of children has grown up in refugee camps without access to education. And, in Zambia, AIDS has so devestated the adult population that half the country's people are age 15 and younger. It is because of situations like these that SIM is passionate about offering hope and opportunity to children and youth around the world. This is done through providing education, caring for orphans, facilitating camps, housing the homeless, offering discipleship, and training local churches on how to reach out to their younger population.
