SIM USA is committed to partnering with local churches to build engaging and effective cross-cultural relationships with churches, people groups, ministry projects, and missionaries around the world. We want to learn about your church, your vision, and your ministry needs to embrace the Kingdom intent of unity within the body of Christ. SIM is asking, “What can the Church do with and through us to more effectively reach the world with the Gospel?”
Imagine your church being able to engage in its mission calling, becoming equipped by an experienced partner, and through that partner effectively connecting to dozens of locations around the world where the Gospel is going forth. Then imagine the positive impact such a connection could have on your congregation and on the people to whom you minister. Can you see the possibilities?
Quality and effectiveness in mission engagement are directly linked to the level of preparation and commitment of the people involved. SIM wants to collaborate with U.S. churches to maximize our resources and strategic impact, together. Our desire is to develop church/mission partnerships with a shared commitment to excellence that brings glory to the Lord. We hope to:
Synergy between entities results in an impact greater than the sum of their individual efforts. One of the primary goals of our church mobilization effort is for SIM to be a conduit of relational connections between our church partners in the U.S. and the national churches and peoples with whom we have relationships overseas. The fruit from such connections extends beyond the experiences of the few who actually go on mission.
Cultural differences can teach us about the global heart of God; different perspectives and applications of our shared biblical beliefs can strengthen our faith. Many of the countries where SIM currently ministers have community-oriented cultures unlike America’s culture of individualism. Believers in many of these places often have a faith tried by the fire of poverty or persecution. When we build relationships with these brothers and sisters we learn from them and our own faith can be strengthened.
We’re excited to see what God will accomplish through our combined resources, skills, experience, and passion! Whether your church is just getting started in cross-cultural mission engagement, or you have a developed ministry that needs new opportunities and connections, or you are tired of “mission as usual” and want to do things differently – let’s talk!
