Most people planning to serve less than 24 months attend two weeks and those planning to serve longer attend all three weeks. SIMCO provides the opportunity to build new relationships, conquer your fears about support-raising, explore issues of cross-cultural ministry and living, apply Biblical thinking to a variety of topics, and much more.
The next times SIMStart and SIMCO is offered:
Departure
You'll be ready to leave for your designated ministry as soon as all the pre-field requirments have been met (vaccinations, visas, suuport in, books read, etc.).
Debrief
Not only will you have an end-of-term debrief on the field, you'll also have one here at the Charlotte campus upon your return. This also enables you to see our medical staff upon re-entry and start getting over jetlag before going home. This applies to everyone, whether you've served for a short term or for a long term.
Alumni
If you serve for less than 24 months, our Alumni Coordinator will check with you sometime after your debriefing. We do this to keep the lines of communication open because your importance to us doesn't end with your debrief! We want to know how your re-entry is going and to hear about the new things God is doing in your life. We'd love to have you join us as a career missionary of the Lord so leads.
